The Comedy
Dawn Dais
www.dreaminmotion.net

Dawn has always taken great pride in her ability to expend the minimum amount of calories necessary to accomplish all things in life. She finds it beyond ironic and quite troubling that her two books, The Nonrunner’s Marathon Guide for Women and The Noncyclist’s Guide to the Century and Other Road Races, involve
nothing short of calorie-burning bonanzas. When she is not exposing her poor muscles to pain and agony for the sake of her art, she can be found lounging peacefully in front of her computer, doing freelance writing and graphic design work. She lives in Sacramento, California, in a small condo that is not nearly big enough for the number of animals that live there with her.

The Cause
Cycle4Hope

Why Cycles4Hope?  A message from founder, Shawn Holiday:
I founded Cycles4Hope in July of 2008 after spending a Saturday morning in June with many of the homeless in the downtown Sacramento area. I was completely overwhelmed by the sheer number and the conditions in which our fellow human beings are enduring. Can you imagine what it must be like to physically live on a sidewalk in the middle of a Sacramento summer? How about having to fight on a daily basis just to get food & water for you and your family? Or having no means to get to shelter or employment? These questions prompted me to start Cycles4Hope. I truly believe that something as simple as a bicycle and a message of hope can positively impact a life. Just think. A bike can get you to a place to cool off such as a community pool or the river. A bike can get you across town to a shelter for food, a bath and a clean bed. A bike can get you to a job that is helping you get back on your feet. A bike can… It is amazing to think that something many of us take for granted can be so incredibly valuable to another.
